چکیده

Hypericin is a pigment present in the widely distributed medicinal plant Hypericum perforatum L. (Hypericaceae). In our research, hypericin was found to be an inhibitor of NADPH/Fe 2+ induced microsomal lipid peroxidation and NADPH-dependent lucigenin chemiluminescence emission in vitro. Hypericin also inhibited the microsomal CYP1Adependent 7-ethoxyresorufin O-deethylase (EROD) which participates in the metabolic activation of xenobiotics including chemical carcinogens.

Effects of Beta-Naphthoflavone and 3-Methylcholantheren on Biochemical Markers in Sturgeon Fish, Huso huso

Background: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a predominant group of contaminants that have been shown to accumulate and persist in marine organisms. We evaluated the dose-dependent induction of the cytochrome P4501A (CYP1A) system in the Sturgeon fish, Huso huso after after exposure to PAHs, beta-naphthoflavone (BNF) and 3- methylcholantheren. Methods: The fish were treated by i.p...

Inhibition of CYP450 1A and 3A by berberine in crucian carp Carassius auratus gibelio.

Berberine has long been considered as an antibiotic candidate in aquaculture. However, studies regarding its effects on drug-metabolizing enzymes in fish are still limited. In the present study, the effects of berberine on cytochrome P4501A (CYP1A) and CYP3A in crucian carp were investigated. Injection of different concentrations of berberine (0, 5, 25, 50, and 100mg/kg) inhibited the CYP1A mRN...

Modulation of rat hepatic and pulmonary cytochromes P450 and phase II enzyme systems by erucin, an isothiocyanate structurally related to sulforaphane.

Administration of dietary doses of the isothiocyanate erucin had no effect on rat hepatic cytochrome P450 activity or protein levels, but at higher doses a rise in CYP1A/B1 protein levels was evident. In lung, treatment with erucin, as well as sulforaphane, failed to modulate cytochrome P450 activities but elevated CYP1A/B1 protein levels. In liver, erucin stimulated quinone reductase activity ...

CYP450 Enzyme-Mediated Metabolism of TCAS and Its Inhibitory and Induced Effects on Metabolized Enzymes in Vitro

In this study, we investigated the enzymes catalyzing the phase I metabolism of thiacalixarene (TCAS) based on in vitro system including cDNA-expressed P450 enzymes, human liver microsomes plus inhibitors and monoclonal antibodies. In addition, the inhibitory potential of TCAS on major CYP450 drug metabolizing enzymes (CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP2B6, CYP2D6 and CYP3A4) was assessed. The results showed ...

Interactions between xenoestrogens and ketoconazole on hepatic CYP1A and CYP3A, in juvenile Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua)

BACKGROUND: Xenoestrogens and antifungal azoles probably share a common route of metabolism, through hepatic cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes. Chemical interactions with metabolic pathways may affect clearance of both xenobiotics and endobiotics. This study was carried out to identify possible chemical interactions by those substances on CYP1A and CYP3A, in Atlantic cod liver. We investigated effe...
